# AVANZA Program Helps Students Success

The college’s AVANZA Program is set on a mission – to help students succeed. AVANZA is a program that provides wraparound services. 

To kick off the semester, program staff held a virtual workshop for students to ask about resources ranging from financial aid to campus life. Students were also invited to a free Budget & Burritos event at the Espina & East Mesa Campuses and Sunland Park & Gadsden Centers. The event provides free food and helps students how to budget funds. According to Everfi, a company which teaches and trains financial literacy, up to 53% of college students report they feel prepared to manage money. ([MoneyMatters-2019.pdf](https://everfi.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/MoneyMatters-2019.pdf?ref=student-pulse.ghost.io)) Budget & Burritos is held in partnership with FirstLight Federal Credit Union to provide students with practical money management skills. 

Students also have access to a free mobile food pantry. The last Thursday of each month, students and public have access to the free food distribution drives at both the Espina and East Mesa Campuses. Students will also be able to attend an open house on September 3rd, at the Gadsden Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be free desserts and swag as well as information on AVANZA.
