Free tutoring resources for students to use
Better grades start at DACC with free tutoring services. Students can get free tutoring all year long through the Academic Readiness Center (ARC). Services are offered at four campuses: East Mesa Campus, Espina Campus, Gadsden Center, and the Sunland Park Center. They take walk-ins and appointments which are available in-person or via Zoom by going to this website, Academic Readiness Center (ARC).
“Honestly, in my personal opinion, I found that the tutoring was very helpful,” says Lorenzo Vasquez, DACC student. “I have to admit I didn’t know how the tutoring center worked and was unsure about it being free, but I was struggling in class and needed tutoring, so I went in and talked to the person at the front desk and asked how it worked.”
Vasquez says the front desk assistant explained every step and recommended a tutor, down to setting up times and days for assistance, an experience that helped him improve his grades. The ARC is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. However, offices on Saturday are closed at the Espina Campus.
The ARC improves teaching and learning by providing workshops, tutoring in-class, face-to-face, and online formats.
