Saving Students Money Across Las Cruces
LAS CRUCES, N.M. — With the cost of living continuing to rise, students at New Mexico State University and Doña Ana Community College (DACC) have an opportunity to save money by taking advantage of a growing number of discounts offered by local businesses throughout Las Cruces, some conveniently located just a short drive from campus while some discounts stretch far across town.
Restaurants, fitness centers, and service providers near the NMSU and DACC campuses are offering student discounts ranging from 10% to 50% for anyone who presents a valid Aggie ID at checkout. Participating businesses include HTeaO, Keva Juice, Lorenzo's Italian Restaurant, Roadrunner Pizza, The Game Sports Bar, Spicy Bean, and many more.

Students looking to save on health and wellness can also take advantage of discounts from businesses such as Drip Drive Hydration which offers 20% off IV Hydration & Vitamin Shots. Optimum Body Shop offers 20% off on recovery services including therapeutic massages. Non-invasive shockwaves are said to heal faster and feel better, and laser therapy is said to decrease pain and inflammation and accelerate the healing process. These treatments are designed to help improve blood flow and promote recovery. Fancy Nails offers 10% off all services while Posh Skin Care offers 15% off Monday and Wednesday appointments on self-luxury with their nail bar, skin bar, beauty bar and many waxing services.
One of the standout food discounts comes from Simply Fresh, a local meal prep company that offers up 30% off on Thursdays and 50% off prepared meals on Fridays. This makes it one of the best options for students looking to save money while still eating fresh, healthy meals. We had the opportunity to speak with one of the store representatives, who shared that meals start at originally around $10 and can increase depending on the amount of added protein. She also recommended that students stop by early on Thursday and Fridays as the discounted meals tend to sell out quickly.
Other participating restaurants like The Game, Keva Juice, King Grill, Roadrunner Pizza, Spicy Bean, A Bite of Belgium, and Far Mesilla all offer 10% off your entire order. HTeaO and Lorenzo’s Italian Restaurant both offer 20% off your entire order, The Paleta Bar offers 15% off, Roni’s Mac Bar offers 5-10% off depending on meal price. Saving even a few dollars off each meal goes a long way especially for a student on a budget, just like me.
If you're looking for a new hobby or even just something fun to do, Outdoor Adventures offers 10% off all gear and equipment and Color Me Mine Pottery offers 40% off studio fees. They also post dates on their social media and website for free entry. If you have family coming to visit for graduation, the big game, or any event, Super 8 University offers 20% off room rates. I would highly recommend booking as far as possible in advance as rooms have limited availability.
NMSU's student government, ASNMSU, maintains a list of participating businesses through its Aggie Discounts program. The initiative is designed to help students manage everyday expenses, including food, recreation, and personal services. According to ASNMSU, students can access these discounts simply by presenting their NMSU student ID at participating businesses. No additional membership or registration is required. If you have any business you'd like to see, the webpage allows you to suggest a business. If we all suggest our favorite restaurants they may soon be involved. In addition to local savings, NMSU students may also qualify for online student discounts through companies such as Apple, Adobe, Microsoft, Lenovo, Dell, Spotify, and Amazon Prime Student. These programs can help students save on technology, software, and entertainment subscriptions, making it more affordable to upgrade equipment or purchase the software they need for school.
For students living on a budget, even small discounts can make a meaningful difference over the course of a semester. Saving 10% or 20% on meals, services, or everyday purchases can help offset the costs of tuition, housing, transportation, and other daily expenses.
